Truly incredible stuff, particularly given the time in which this drive was produced. In 2023, this drive is still an incredible innovation for the hard drive industry, stuffing as many platters as possible in such a low-height form-factor.<\/p>\n<p>While IBM had major trouble with their drive designs at the time, this unit fortunately lives on today. Ref: Maximum PC, December 2000 [1]<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>Given the clear label indications that this example came from a Dell machine originally, it is quite possible it served in the exact model above: the Inspiron i8000. Obviously, for the year 2000, 32GB was certainly quite a capacity for a 2.5&#8243; drive. As a result, these drives found use in higher-end machines, with the machine listed above being catered towards multimedia use with a price-tag of near $3.6k USD.<\/p>\n<p>Even now, almost 25 years later, the DJSA-232 is an incredible feat of technology.
