Marvell continues to be present in the controller IC market, alongside EMST when concerning buffer RAM (a whopping 16MB!). Seagate also released the ST500VT001, which is identical to these, but with 32MB of cache instead. Sadly, there&#8217;s no codename present on the PCB at all.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_728\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-728\" style=\"width: 668px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-728\" src=\"https:\/\/bananahdd.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/sg-video-25-cdi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"668\" height=\"660\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bananahdd.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/sg-video-25-cdi.jpg 668w, https:\/\/bananahdd.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/sg-video-25-cdi-300x296.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bananahdd.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/sg-video-25-cdi-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-728\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em><strong>I&#8217;ve not played on this 360 much, clearly.<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This drive has been barely used, which is my own fault, but nonetheless it&#8217;s practically new still.<\/p>\n<p>Generally, Seagate 2.5&#8243; drives of this era seem to be quite reliable, as opposed to their Rosewood architectures. Being an AV-class drive, these do not auto-park their heads after a specified interval, unlike general mobile units. This was seemingly the case with some older consumer 2.5&#8243; models used in Xbox 360&#8217;s, but this behaviour wasn&#8217;t always guaranteed, depending on the model used.
