Rummaging through old hard drives from the 90’s and early 2000’s sometimes offers interesting results. A previous post covering a Fujitsu M2724TAM 1.6GB hard drive from 1997 revealed a Sharp OEM installation of Windows 95. The machine was a Sharp Mebius laptop of some sort, a domestically available unit within Japan, with the installation notably being in Japanese.
After a request from a commentor for the wallpaper used in the video covering the drive above, a little digging had to be done! Online searches yield no results for these wallpapers, so this is a key example of important file preservation. It was well worth having to copy 10 floppy disk’s worth of bitmap images, first to a machine with USB support (who burns CD’s these days?), then to a non-XP era machine.
Seven Sharp wallpapers are now available for whoever choses to use them as a result. Please enjoy!

Each background is packaged into an individual zip file. A single file containing all the background images above is also available below.
File names are the same as per Sharp’s original installation, with each background download containing the following files:
– MEBIUxA.BMP (bitmap, 800×600, 8-bit, OEM)
– MEBIUxAT.BMP (bitmap, 800×600, 24-bit, OEM)
– MEBIUxAT.PNG (png, 800×600, 24-bit, converted bitmap)
– MEBIUxATU2.PNG (png, 1600×1200, 24-bit, 2x upscaled png)
– MEBIUxATU4.PNG (png, 3200×2400, 24-bit, 4x upscaled png)
Please note: Upscaled images are amateurish at best, using external upscaling programs. Details are lost on some backgrounds! It is recommended to use the original files for the most part, but if you don’t mind losing some detail, feel free to use the sharper (no pun intended) upscaled images.
